Looking good!

Can't tell from the pics, but why does the Hawk need a repaint?

Beautiful 1st gens!!

Never have seen a Buick in 2 tone blue before. Is that stock colors?
I'd say it is definately a rare example these days - does it have the Brazil OHC 1.8?

All the 1st gen J's had 2tone color options, it was just rarely marked when people ordered J's.

thanks for the compliments guys. the hawk has the 2.0 and the colors are stock . i found the paint codes in the trunk and build sheet behind the rearseat. repainting because of some rust and fading isues not apparent from the photos. its a 20 footer.

Great looking cars! Awesome! The two toned blue was one of the better looking factory 2 tone options. My '85 Oldmobile brochure has a Firenza hatchback in the same colors and with Firestone 721 raised white letter tires, it looked quite sporty.

The Hawk had a very crisp and clean nose that I really liked. When their hatch came out a couple of years into the run I was slow to accept the revised rounder nose w/ pop up headlights- but that was how styling trends were going - the Dodge Daytona did the same.

Cars look great and by look on the dogs face I think he thought you taking a picture of him. Even though I am a Cav guy that two tone Buick looks killer. Is the Cav a 2.8?

Sorry, but I just have to mention when I see something like this, but your flag is backwards--the canton (blue field of stars) should be hanging on the upper left side when looking toward the building.

I don't mean the flag is sideways, that part is fine, but the canton should still be in the upper left.

I've seen blue on blue Hawks back in the day. Are you getting it painted the same, or another color?

i am painting the car myself and this is my first try at this. idk if i have the skills to do a two-tone. i did some industrial spraypainting when i was younger so i do know how to use a spray gun , i just never painted a car. i have a lot of prep work tp do and i"m going to take it nice and slow.btw the cav does have a2.8 a very tempermental one at that. oh. the dogs a she and i wouldnt trade her for all the j-bodys in the world!
