Probably never. There hasn't been a J Body Bash since '05 IIRC. They replaced it with the GMSC (small car) Bash.

There was never any real reason for 1st/2nd gen guys to go towards the end, as there wasn't any real support for them in either the awards or aftermarket portions of the Bash. So unless you were going to say hi to some third gen guys who didn't really care about your car anyways, it was pretty boring. I don't recall any 1st/2nd gen type stuff at the GMSC, and the overall Bash seems to be slowing down too. The V6Z24 Bash picked up the slack for 1st/2nd gen guys, but it's tapered off in the last few years. There are always 40 people who vow to be there, it gets planned, and then the same 10 guys show up every year. It's more of a hanging out, eating pizza and drinking beer than a car thing anymore. There is talk of one this year (11th anniversary), but again, the organizers are hesitant to put it together due to lack of turnout.

James I do not agree, completely. The name might have been GM Tuner bash, but it was still a j-body bash. The last few years, only a few first and second gens ever showed up. There has been normally 40-50 members the last few years. The Crate Engine Depot was a big failure.

I actually talked to a few places local to me, and thought about hosting the bash here in northeast ohio again. The last one here was back in 2010, if I recall correctly. I already talked to the hotel, Quaker steak, Thompson Drag Raceway, and RDP performance "dyno". Just not really sure if I want to take on the ordeal.

The "south" bash seems to be coming together well on the weekend of the 4th of April.

GM last I tried to talk to them didn't want anything to do with a bash, or even bringing any new or old cars. Lordstown, doesn't want to be part of anything either.

Good info guys, I guess I should browse the V6 site more often. There is a lot of High Performance info over there.

I guess I should have said it was more of a name thing than anything else. I went to one of the GMSC Bashes (I can't remember which year though) and saw mostly J bodies, but it technically wasn't a "J Body" Bash.

It is cool to see some people are still interested in doing one. What's crappy is that the entire "sport compact" scene has slowed down so much that much of the outside support and interest is gone. At some point, a "J body" Bash will be a bunch of collector's cars
