so i hit a truck over the winter due to no brakes... f'd up my hood pretty good.

so here's the pic of what i replaced it with.




so the 14" pontiac wheels are on (with 215/60/r14 tires). the z24 hood painted the prettiest blue i've ever seen! also my sirius is installed (i love it), the 88 sunbird gt interior is in, and basicly alotta cleaning up of the car...

it's like a blue/purple depending on what light it's in, and how u look at it. i love the color. i want it for my 3rd gen when i get one.

yea. not having brakes sucks. you have to hit things to stop.

If it came from a '93-94 Z24, it's called "Quasar Blue". I can't think what the '88-90 or the '91-92 blues are called, but they are all different.

it isn't a factory color i can tell you that much.

it used to be white (the underside was not repainted). im probably going to take it to KOI autobody (kentucky ohio indiana motors) and have them see if they can match it. i have not have anyone say the do not like the color.

If it's not a factory color, best of luck getting it matched. Matching an unknown non-OE color can be hell.

yeah i know. but it's worth a shot. if not, i'll just try to match it with a paint book.

If its PPG they can use the Prophet with good results. I think they can even match non PPG colors. Just ask to have it Prophetized.

this is the only one i can find. i must of been so upset about it when it happened, i deleted the pics.

but the hood was slightly buckled, and u can see 2 white marks which are pretty big indents where the hood lips over the lights....

oh well. i got tired of that hood anyways. i never got around to finishing the fiberglassing of the scoops. lol. so it's a blessing.

what really sucks is this is one of the best pics of my car... sitting on a goddam trailer!

That's DuPont Montego Blue Pearl. The base colors look to be similar; that picture has something like 5% more pearl added, which accounts for the extra grayness.

yours has a green tint to it, rather mine has a purple tint to it...

If you're seeing green, it's either the pic quality or the horrible lighting. There's absolutely no hints of green whatsoever on the car.

its right where the flash hit the bumper. like a teal green or teal blue.

I like how you cought the sun on it, even if it is primmered lol.... yea, I like that one too, and if I'm not mistaken that's a bird in the next drive-way. I see where your talking about green up there, kinda teal, but I think it's just cause of the massive flash of the camera. I dunno tho, I still kinda like the one on the wrecker better, but ya know... I've been in that situation and come to think of it... the last thing I'd probably think to do at the time is take a pic. I most usually spent my time sulking and feeling sorry for myself. luckily when my brakes went out I realized it just before I got to an intersection and steered off and was able to pull up my emergency brakes. I foudn out they call em that for a reason that day.

i don't call it a emergency brake... i call it a lever that makes the car smell funny. lol.

when the brakes went out i had nothing in the rear, it snaped 1 retainer spring, bent the parking brake lever, and destroyed both WheelCylinders. (i have no clue how the other one went out, they were both brand new when they went. @!#$ p.o.s. autozone brakes)

the bird n the other driveway is my turbo bird. it's so freaggin stripped out right now. the raditor is laying under the car, the fans in the yard, the cam housing in my garage, the interior is in my cavalier, as well as the trunk lid, wheels, and rear sway bar. the turbos coming off (if i can get that damn bottom bolt to brake loose!) and well. im tring to take what i can off it so i can let the city come pick it up when i abandon the car on the street.

lol... and 10% of proceedes go to archeuphoria for bringing up the bird in the driveway. and to think, I've spent the past month mentioning I need to find a turbo.

yeah it was bad when I had to use it. It wasn't the best stopping job ever and I actually spun around and ended up stuck there for three hours before I could get a hold of anyone. not to mention it was the summer and I was burnin up. My booster practically gave out and everything sank to the floor. It'd even be cool if I could say my life flashed before my eyes but really it was a Diamond Shamrock sign instead. I didn't snap any springs, in fact it could have been a lot worse, just had to get new rotors, discs.... bleed bleed bleed the brake line and replace the booster. me and the bird have been thru some tuff times together.

Looks like it could be close to the same color of my T/A. It changes to purple at a certain angle. its the same color that comes on the new GTO's and Vette's

yea my boss just brought a 05 monte back to work with her today (bought it on lunch wtf?) and it's almost exact to my color. but i think mine has a lil' more pearl in it.
