I was wondering if anyone has the weights of different year Cavaliers..?

I weighed my lightened up 90 auto wagon today- 2640
My new powersteeringless 90 5 speed 2 door with crap in the trunk weighed 2480
My moms 93 5 speed 2 door weighed 2540

All cars had a half tank of gas in them. I was actually surprised the 93 was as close as it was to the 90, considering it has power steering, A/C, and ABS. Thats why I'm curious about the factory weights of all the Cavs, including first gens.

i think your scale is off dude. my 86 z24 weighs in just short of 2700 lbs, with only the drivers seat and no spare tire. a buddy of mine in a 90 z24 with no interior (im talking a drivers seat, dash and shifter) weighed in about the same. now this isnt at a weigh scale for trucks, this is the scale at the race track.

Nah, this scale is quite accurate. At least 5 businesses in town (that I know of) rely on this scale several times everyday. Anyways, this is the reason I want to see factory weight numbers of the cars. Perhaps a 1st gen car with a V6, more suspension (ie. bigger front sway bar and has a rear sway bar),and more options weighs more than a bare bones 2nd gen. I dunno, thats why I asked.....

Your scale is definately off. a 93 5 speed weigh almost exactly 2800lbs. the phase 2 cars were the heaviest because of all the sound deading material.

I crushed my 91 RS yesterday and it weighed 2,190 lbs (only missing a front bumper).

Thanks for the info.. I'll be printing it tomorrow!

Those numbers are awfully close to the ones I got, and could explain some of the indifferences between the cars were talking about.

3.1 RS is basically the same car as the Z24. Z24 might weigh slightly more because of the side skirts and other little options Z24s have (trunk carpet etc)
