everybody is always talkin bout u can get civic intakes and hook em up to a 2nd gen cav, not mpfi, but can u get a 2.2 cav intake like off ebay for example and just cut it down a lil bit, that looks easier than or as easy as a civic intake
www.jbodyperformance.com also has intakes specifically made for J-Bodies. i havent bought anything off them yet but it looks like a nice little site. i wouldnt mind looking into a k&n intake for the 2.2 Cav engine either

But is it possible to make an intake fit on a TBI 2.2L? Our throttle bodies stick strait up in the air.
What you could do is buy the Civic/Integra kit at the parts store, buy the throttle body adaptor, attach that and then use one of those plastic hoses to make the 90 degree turn for the metal intake pipe...
89sunbird has a nice setup for the 2.0 and sunvalier has a nice setup for the 2.2.. check out the link, see if it helps any..

i'd like the CAI on my 2.2 eventually as well.

ok cool but where can u get the throttle adapter, i know its from other cavs and birds but wut years, my cav has the big ol air box on it
Its at AutoZone...its in the same area as all that APC Civic/Integra crap (CAI, strut tower bar, muffler, etc...)
ok so the black adapter from i think its stengers car can be bought at autozone
and also on the intake pipes, does it matter wut side the filter goes or no
the black adapter i had to get from the junk yard. it's off a TBI 89 Cavalier...
sunbirds as well had them.
...
well u know how the intake pipe will have 2 outlets, does it matter which side the filter goes on or no
i have my bend going down, but my intake set up is a bit more than others... its the same size all around though.
