Basically the needle is all the way to the right almost the entire time I am driving. Sometimes if I maintian a certain speed for long periods of time it will settle at half way but as soon as I shift or take my foot of the gas it will go right again. This has to be a sensor problem right? I don't see how it could fluctuate like that and not destroy my engine. I imagine I wouldn't be able to drive very far with oil pressure at 550 would I? Any help would be apprecated.

high oil pressure is a good thing. its not going to destroy anything. the pump has a built in bypass so it cant get more than 70psi.
