Rear Deck Fiberglass WIP

hey, i've been debating this mod for a while, got some resin and mat not too long ago, so i figured before i go through with my dash mod, i'll take a crack at the rear deck and make sure i'm not going to completely screw it up well... to make it short here are some pics, tell me how my progress is going if you want, i'm not really a newb to fiberglassing, but i've never done a rear deck, so i want some opinions:

to

i still have to do a few more coats of resin, and probly a good bit of filling, kuz i messed up the right side by having to shift my raising panel, the other one was at the angle i wants and i forgot to make sure that one didn't shift when i was laying mat, oh well, another coat of resin should fix that and maybe some cutting, and new mat*shrugg* anyway, peace

I wanna see more! Also, try to put the glassed panel on a surface that is not the same color, so it stands out a bit more

well i've got two layers of FG to go and then i'll be painting it black to match what will hopefully be the new interior color, also i found these padded black leather seat covers at CT that would look awesome in my car, and probly fix the problem of having springs in my @$$ while i'm driving i'll get pics of all this as time and money permits, and i'll probly start posting updates on this in the interior section

hey, I never really finished that project, infact, after all was said and done I sold the car, and it ended up getting crushed (it was so close too ) anyway, to do it properly, I would have needed to stretch the matting evenly over everything put at least 3-4 coast of good resin on the mat maybe even another layer between the final touch is some evercoat bondo to smooth everything out, I really wish I'd been able to finish this project (especially considering I'm legal to drive it now haha) if you're doing it first time around, good luck, it's fun stuff, just make sure you use the mask like they say, I'm not sure my lungs are 100% since then :-p

in the case that you;re doing the dash mod, you're better off doing 3-4 layers of mat and spreading that through 7-8 layers of resin, you want it to be impaast resistant sorry wasnt clear between rear deck and dash

O its alright, i already drilled holes in it, so the fiberglass matting and resin would hold better. Damn thing look like swiss cheese. But now i am getting it covered up. Im not sure what to do with the glove compartment yet.
