Ok my nightmares have come true the INTERNAL!!!! fuel pump on my s-bird is about gone. at 1/4 tank the engine runs like @!#$, fill it up and it runs good. To the point......How much of a pain in the ass will it be to change the pump, and is there any hints or tips for this project.

Are you sure it is the fuel pump? They are actually pretty easy to change. Its been a while since I had to changed one. There is two straps that go across the tank, one bolt in each if I remeber correctly. Remove them and lower the tank enough to unplug the electical connector on top of the tank and remove the lines. Drop the tank and there is a snap ring holding the old pump in the take. I used a screwdriver to pop the clip off. When you put the new pump back in its hard to get the new o-ring that seals around the pump in right so I just reused the old one.

yea my mecanic friend said it was the pump......or can it be somthing else i replaced a lot of the fuel system.
