Window Weld - solid engine mounts

Well i filled my engine and transmission mounts with 3M Window Weld and i recommend any of you that have a problem with ripping mounts and a loose engine (car bucking when you let off the gas) do this. It worked great!! The car feels a lot better when taking off , it will roast the tires like never before!!@

yeah mike, If that window weld doesn't hold up, my dad is going to machine me a trans mount out of a block of aluminum.
I also had the idea of just welding in some steel at the top of my trans mount on the overload part of it (the two rubber blocks at the top) Two blocks on the top of the rubber to the metal so the weight would pull down on them, and two 1/4" thick pieces driven into the sides so it would have no movement at all.

Anyway you look at it, The stock mounts BLOW if you have a v6 and especially with a 5 speed. A couple good launches and the front motor mount and trans mount turn into butter.

either way, I'm hopefully wrapping up my swap this week, maybe by the weekend and I'll probably give all of my mounts some sort of support. you reminded me that I should

I recommend the window weld until you want to go completly solid. It takes 1 tube to do the trans mount and the front mount. I also recommend you let them dry for about 48 hrs. I let mine sit out in the sun for 2 days and they worked out great. I took them out and abused the hell out of them trying to break the window weld. it held up good.. only time will tell if they survive the heat of the engine bay though.

If I get to dropping in the engine sooner than this weekend I'll just spot-weld 'em a wee bit, I'll be satisfied. thanks for the reminder again tho.

Damn, I wish my class rules would allow me to run a solid mount......

But, I guess I will have to stick to filled ones for now/
