Buzzer?

Were is the buzzer that sounds whenever you have the key in the ignition with the door open? I hate that sound, it drives me nuts and I have my door open a lot when I'm working on the interior with the key on accesory so I can listen to mucic while I'm working and the buzzer always goes off so I jam something in the door sensor so it thinks its closed, but I'd really like to just get rid of it all together. I was thinking of just cutting the wires to the switches in the door to stop it, would that work? And I heard before somwere in another post I cant seem to find its a little black box under the dash that does it and I want to get rid of everything, so does anyone kno were the box is?
I tried setting it off and looking for it but I cant do it.......its just to annoying and I cant find it, I know its under there somewere though cause its really loud if you stick your head under the dash, lol
thanks

I have one, but its only on when the key is in the ignition and the driver seatbelt isnt latched...dies out in a groan after a couple seconds, though

mines constant until the door closes, never noticed if it stops if I plug in the seatbelt, never had my seatbelt on with the door open at the same time.

Ok here's the scoop!-after an early morning trip out to my car.

On my '93 Cav it's an orange coloured small plastic box with holes in one side to let the sound out.

It is on the very left side of the car almost above your left foot if you moved it as far left as possible.

I have taken the panelling off this side, if I kneel on the ground outside the drivers door and look up behind the hood release lever I can see it.

Instead of cutting the wires to the doors Tyrin, it looks as though you could just :-

Remove the plug from this unit, insulate the ignition (Pink/black from gauges fuse) and Battery (Orange) from Ctsy fuse

Connect the front door switch wires (Lt Grn/Blk and Lt Blue) to the Grey from the interior light diode.

All this can be done at the plug.

This should operate the interior light(s) from the door switches
with the Sound of Silence!

Don't leave your Head/side lights on now as it will also Quietly drain the battery.

Hope this helps

I found the box, it was black on my car (89 sunbird) and I pulled the box out of the socket its in to have a look at it and I still had courtesy lights, then I kept trying to make the buzzergo off and I couldnt so all you have to do is pull the box out and smash it So I no longer have the buzzer and my courtesy lihts still work, it must be diffrent for a cavy cause I didnt have to do any wiring or anything.
