GTZ24 update...

Latest update, well not much has changed on the car but I am about 75% done with my interior swap. I started out with the crappy blue interior and Ive swapped it over to black. I still need to find a black center console that isnt broken, all of the ones that come in are always tore up. I pulled a black carpet that was really nasty, well after a couple of washs and hand scrubbing it came out pretty clean. Im going to probably put it in in Tuesday. I am going to have to wait on the dash and door panel install because I dont have the big rivet gun for the power window install.

So my VL will finally have full power options after I complete the power window install.

I also picked up a certain thing that ways a couple hundred pounds.

There was a small fire in the engine bay and the hood insulation landed on the UIM. But oh well I got the motor for free and I have another 3400 upper intake, tb, fuel rail and injectors, as well as a full 3400 gasket set all laying around. I know its rough, but I am tearing down the motor anyways and doing a bit of work in it.

What?? :p Actually at the last autox that I went to, not SCCA, but a local car club one my friends in a Z26 with a 3400 were in a stock class because the members didnt know a damn thing about GM fwd cars, and the install looked stock.

Wouldnt the Bilsteins and Eibachs put me in SM anyways?

With just the Bilsteins and Eibachs (since they are a direct bolt in), you could run in SP or ST, neither of which allow for other than stock engines (just modficiations to them), the biggest difference between the two is the use of different body parts like bumpers and wings (Street Touring). SM allows for unlimited engine mods. Since you're swapping in an engine that never came stock in a J body, its considered unlimited.

The actual class you run in is up to you (as long as you are legal for that class). If you have a car that is legal for SP, you can run in SM, since all SP mods are legal in SM. Sometimes I run my buddies car (94 Integra, set up for DSP) in SM, since its legal. In fact, I did it at our last race, and I beat him in his own car

Well today was my first day off in a really long time, and so I decided to work on the B24.

I had been cleaning up a black carpet that I pulled from one of the yards down in Chicago. This carpet was just plain nasty, it had oil and antifreeze all over it, but it was in really great condition. There are no holes or worn parts on it.

I hand scrubbed it 4 different times and finally got all the grime and dirt out. Oxy clean ownz.

So today I decided to tear out the seats, center console and the old carpet. The old blue carpet was really nasty and dirty, the black is a hell of a lot cleaner. The removal went pretty straight forward, except that Jbodies are gay and you have to take out the radio and HVAC just to remove the center console. Im going to put a Beretta center console in eventually, its a much better design.

I put the new carpet in, pounded it down where it needed to settle and then I reinstalled everything. So I finished everything and put the seats back in. I turn the car on to move it and I notice that none of the accessories work, the interior lights, the door chime, and the rear defrost are all dead. Im like WTF, so I tear back into the interior and examine all of the wiring and make sure everything was put back in it correct place. Everything was, so I start tracking down my amp signal wire and it had been crushed by a seat install, and it split the wire and grounded it out. So it was causing the courtesy fuse to blow. So tomorrow Im ripping out that wire and installing a new one and then Ill put the interior back together.

Now for the pics because you know Im a pic whore...

Very very nice! Never understood why GM put the e-brake on the passenger side, though!

I like the mixture of blue and black, i always wanted to find some tan phase 2 parts to mix with black.
Good luck finding a good console.. it took me about a year to find one.. then i put metal bracing in it so it could never break. Makes the console much stronger when you lean on it also.
