Not the trans, or pump, wtf??

Ok, only you can save a wagon from the yard... this is really driving me crazy...

The wagon has really bad idle, and lacks get up and go (have to push it harder to
get up to speed-though fine when it gets there..)

I've been replacing parts the last year as they have been going...

A few issues within the last week...

- when braking from 35-40mph(or more) it throws the check engine light on...
and stays on till car is off.

-runs even worse while at an angle (like in a driveway)

-runs worse when warmer (runs decent at night)

It kinda comes off as a trans-like problem (struggles to get up to speed, doesn't
want to stay there-sometimes)

But the trans doesn't throw a light, and the shifts themselves sound fine (wouldn't
cause crappy idle either)

Easy money would be on the fuel pump, but it was just replaced a short while ago..

Fuel filter is in decent shape...

Any ideas? Don't be shy about asking questions...

oh, and it's a 3.1 with a truckload of miles.....

help.

Check for vaccuum leaks and check the MAP sensor

Leaks? Didn't think of that...will check...

Could a MAP sensor cause that much grief? I didn't think that it would have affected
the get up and go as much...

Yes the MAP sensor is one of the more important sensors on the engine. Its directly related to the fuel mixture.

Could that also explain why the wagon runs better on a full tank, but gets pretty
bad as I use it up?

I think once it hits the three quarters mark, it just goes downhill...

Also a quick question I have to add- does heat have a major affect on the Map sensor?
Could explain why when it gets warmer (and humid) it runs even worse....

Hopefully it gets checked out this weekend..
