this is for a 93 VL cavalier 5-speed . it should work with the 92-94 2.2 cavaliers also. it should be different for tbi and sunbirds but i'm not sure.

Ground wire- i took the top screw out of the drivers side trim molding, by the trunk release. and attached the wire there.

12v ignition only wire- i used the same one that is used for the radio, you can either tap it at the fuse box or behind the radio its self.

tach signal wire- remove the glove box they all use the same size scewdriver, look for a white wire coming from the ecm there should only be one as i remember. and tap into it

and there you go you should have a working tach at that point.

There are several white wires. You need the wire in the center connector marked "B11".

would that be the wire on a 2.0 bird also? i have asked before but got many diferent awnsers... so all i have to do is take out my glove box and splice into a white wire, sounds easy enough. and this wire will read full RPM's right? cause wiring it to the coil packs only reads about a third of the rpms. thanks

from the wire diagram if its a 2.0 mpfi it should have a tach signal wire comming from the ecm and it should read full rpm but i can neither comfirm nor deny that.

What about the turbo 2.0 birds? Do they use the same engine harness? I was planning on just looking for this info on a Typhoon site to get a tach signal for my AIC but if somone knows, great!
