Well, for the last couple weeks I have been pondering on what would be the best way to add the factory turbo to my non turbo sunbird. I have talked with alot of people reguarding the issue and came up with ideas of using an SAFC plus the turbo fuel rail/injectors etc, and right down to a standalone Haltech setup. I was trying to do this with minimal cost. So after tak\lking to slowolej, and a few others, it seemed that the cheapest and most reliable way would be to use a factory turbo j wiring harness. Well, today I finally found one. I pulled a good bit of parts. I got the complete engne wiring harness, the thermostat housing with water outlets, the air intake tube to the turbo inlet, the air filter box assembly, the distributor itself, and the ECU PROM (It was an automatic car yay!!!). I got everything for $160. So now I just have to start sifting through eveything, and get it all ready to install. Then I will have boost. It's about damn time!
Trying to become the most modded out N/A 2nd gen sunbird 4 cylinder on the org with a..... screw that, I'm going turbo!!!
2.Slow OHC I4
Ported cylinder head, intake and exhaust
Relocated IAT with a custom WAI with a 6x9 K&N conical filter
All this, and I still can't go fast.............yet!!
I demand you write a DIY!
