SO was made my own brackets and all for a tilt hood and it turned out like crap. So my quistion is has anyone done the tilt hood on the 2gen cavs using the buick skylark hinge assembly? I must know other wise I will be very depressed about this issue until I get it resolved. Somone plz help me out
I remember seeing someone who did it. Look through the last several months of COTM on V6Z24. I think it was a green PH2.

i was gonna try...but i decided to go with a custom Z style hinge set up...it works in my mind...but its hard to explain.
you'll have to brace the hood i dont think its strong enough to hold itself up from the front.
well I got the Lesaber 1988 hinge system..... man I'm happy now... I'm goint to install it right now
so I'm almost done with this mod. I dont know if I'm the only one that incountered that the hing sits higher that the hood line so there is quite a bit of cutting and welding going on for me.... did I mention I almost cut my dammn finger off?? DUCK TAPE BABY!
but with a how-to...every other car will have it. im not lookin forward to not bein unique again
ture i decided agaisnt it only cuz it seems like it would be a pita to work on it i think i might do split hood

hmmm.... that will be intersting to see.... I got mine done and man was it a pain..... and it could still use some work.. in fact I do have to cut some supports down for the stabalizer bar to clear.....
