starting problems

happy new year ... question? ... 1993 sunbird, 2.0 MPFI auto. ... the problem is when turning the ignition, nothing happens, I' ve made a habit of starting in neutral, or of late the problem has been getting worse ... my starting ritual now is holding the ignition key in the start position with my left hand and with my right hand, I have to manipulate the shifter by either pushing the shifter forward in the park position or forward in the neutral position (between reverse and neutral to find the "sweet spot"), the starter and battery are all good ... what a pain in the butt ... anybody got any thoughts??? Thanking all in advance ... regards Irv

its not that hard to fix, its on the transmition were the shift leaver is. just unhook the shift linkage, unbolt the arm, and unbolt and unplug the swich...a new one is about 15 dollars IIRC. hope this helps dude.
