hey all,
spring is coming, and once the Cavalier comes out i want to get a tune-up done. what would you guys suggest to use for plugs and wires in my '94 2.2L engine? i dont need ultra high racing plugs/wires, but just a good daily setup..
the engine is pretty much stock except for a K&N drop-in filter
thanks

If you are willing to spend the money I'd go platinum, If you want to save then just get regular AC plugs. AC wires are great too, but then again if you don't want to spend the money I've always had good luck with carquest wires.

yeah i think i'll look into the platinum plugs and platinum wires, see what they're worth
i wasnt sure at first because some people told me if the car didnt come stock with platinum's then i shouldnt use them?
thanks!

well if yer running stock, then a basic set of plugs and wires will do just as good as the expensive guys. grab a set of acdelco's or some carquest wires(as stated above) and call it a day
besides you'll have some extra cash to put towards yer next mod (or the rent

yeah everything else in the engine is stock... so yeah, i might as well go with the entry level AC Delco plugs and wires...
and that can save me some money to put towards my interior, i need a tach desperately (i hate not having a tach), new gauge pod with oil pressure and volt meter, and a possible eBay reverse-glow gauge overlay for the main gauge cluster..
thanks guys for the input

personally i prefer delco plugs and wires
You don't have a tach either? My car has a manual and it doesn't have a stick.... drove me crazy at first but now I'm used to it.

yeah it does suck having a stick w/ no tach. i had a '92 dodge shadow w/ the 5-speed and no tach, so that was my first mod to that car. was a little 3 inch sunpro and i mounted it on the steering column

I use AC Rapidfire plugs in my 2.2.. I tried going back to the regular AC plug one time, and it mangled the plug, was either #1 or 2 cylinder. So, needless to say I put the Rapidfire plugs back in. I haven't had any problems with them, and I always get enough use out of them to make it worth the money
Pretty much any of the major manufacturers that have been around for years are fine, or they wouldn't be around still. Champion, Autolite, Bosch, etc...I have Autolite plug wires on right now, only becuase when I went to get the stuff, they had no ACDelco wires, and I didn't want Exact brand wires.
