Time to kill the wagon?

I'm debating on what to do here.

Give up on the wagon, and pick up a 00-03 sedan (salvage or regular-don'r care)

Or booty up some money to do some repairs....

Trying to decide whether it is worth it or not is tough-as I would like to keep the wagon
going, it comes in very useful, especially considering we plan to buy a house come
spring.

I was planning to replace the EGR(which I finally figured out) in the next few months
as soon as it started warming up.

But now it has a new problem-it leaks gas. Only a little bit, right in front of the rear tires
(in center). And that has some issues there...(no fires, please )

Now, I don't have a problem putting some money into it, but at the same time, I don't want to be putting 500+ dollars or more into it ( at least not now, anyways..)

Other than that it is rusty ( Don't think it will be a huge issue), and runs like a trooper.

I think the 3.1 could really go for a while longer...in pretty good shape for 133k....

Based on what you guys/gals based on this gen of cav-recommend?

Worth some money to keep her running-or just look for a new(er) car?

If you get lots of use out of it, no reason to junk it over a bad egr and a little gas leak. Get an EGR from the junkyard cheap and clean it up, and as for the fuel leak. You'll probably have to drop the gas tank, which isn't hard but it's much easier with 2 people. Then you can replace whatever line or hose is leaking and no fires, no problem. You want to make sure to have as little gas in tank as possible when you start unless you want the tank to be heavy and a pain in the butt. when your fuel pump dies doesn't leave you much choice, but that was on a Blazer. Anyway, hope this helps

True-I do use it quite a bit.

Hopefully the fuel pump won't die, since it was replaced...

I'm just hoping it doesn't lead to a bunch more problems...I don't have an issue spending a little money, I just don't want everything to start going (part wise)

Though the car does run quite good other than that...so maybe I shouldn't be that worried....

just do what christopher said. get the needed parts from a salvage yard and do the work yourself. might take a little longer than at a shop...but then again it really might not.
plus, it'll be LOTS cheaper.
that's the route you should take for not dumping wads of money into your wagon.
...and that's from one wagon owner to another.

Have you seen the turbo wagon?

13.90 @ 105.46mph
street tires
