my last 2.0 the head gaskit blew so i want to do and engine swap for performance and less work but does anyone know if the replacement aftermarket headgasket is better designed to withstand the heat or is it just after the aluminum gets hot it expands and the gasket can't take it
I'm confused. Are you doing a head gasket on a 2.0 or changing the engine? Make sure to replace the head bolts and torque it properly and you should be alright.
You can't outrun the radio.
Newer head gaskets are better designed. If you overheat a 2.0 OHC you will stress teh gasket. Most of the cars I've seen that popped them had cooling systems in poor shape and were poorly maintened.
Agreed.. I popped a headgasket but only because it over-heated. I did up my cooling system and am running the engine at 160degrees now.. just bought a MLS headgasket from another thread too... Happy :-)
