Everyone,
I have learned so much in my experiences in transforming my cavalier, and met several interesting people in my own hometown that are talented in their own ways, so much to the fact that i am going to use my own vehicle as a feature project on a local access television show.
If your in the RI area, check out of other show, New England Tunerz (www.newenglandtunerz.com) for coverage of local events, etc -- and our latest show, which has yet to be named, is going to start filming with this years mods.
So far Here's whats going to be changed
Ride height restored. Wagon springs (back end higher than front for 'muscle-y look' because i ordered the wrong lowering springs and the ride quality is poor to say the least. Convertibles don't need to hit more bumps harder, they wobble enough as is
New inner tie-rods -- from the front end tweaking under torque, the inner bushings have worn severely
Install NordLock vibration resistant fasteners on engine mount bolts and exhaust manifold bolts
Install header-wrap on headers, crossover pipe, and turbo down-pipe to reduce under-hood temps & keep EGT's up.
Install QTEC electric exhaust cutout and turn-down for WB O2 install
Haltech E6GM installed, re-wired harnesses, got base programming done, car makes considerably more power than the stock 'chipped' computer i had before. Repaired timing so it will advance more than 10 degrees. (Thanks curits!)
Installing larger fuel injectors (36 lb, as opposed to 22 lb) to match the additional pump flow, and demand of the engine breathing.
Upgrading inter cooler / piping (later this year)
Sunbird tail swap with custom license holder (working on this still)
Custom front end setup (help keep things cool)
Drill out a 160 degree thermostat, installation...
Clean the engine block
..... etc etc
Maybe I'll get around to upgrading all my crappy brake hoses to actual AN fittings, but i think that'll still be next year
Again, thanks all, and good luck.

I wondered what you had been up to lately. Good to see you have a plan in mind. Hows the new job going?
James,
Firefighting is definitely one of the most interesting careers in this country. I am also glad the car is finally moving -- if you have any more of them 'old' go-fast parts and want to hand them down, feel free
you know where i live...

Glad to see the car is still being worked on, i was wondering if you just scrapped the car idea. Good work on the Haltech!! Should help out a lot.
Have you any plans to attend the v6z24 bash?
Unfortunately, i can't plan on attending events far away as my job requires me to work an 8 day work week -- and, on top of that, i'm 136th in seniority, so my vacation picks are what others drop, and thats if the list gets down to me!
*shrugs*
Maybe next year!

that car is what i dream of when i sleep....
all day...
This post is also a year old......
Well, i guess i'll log in and update this:
I got the haltech installed, a lot of @!#$ done, and low and behold my friend Keith (also here on the forums) melted my pistons by accidentally enabling the 6k rpm table, also leaning my fuel map out under 14 psi boost at ~5700 rpm... needless to say, there ARE holes in the mahle pistons which i prized oh so much...
So, to answer your questions : James, yes i still need the motor and i'm STILL tight on cash. Dunno bro -- when i get some cash i'll be up that way i guess... So far it's sort of tough with the Legacy GT and all -- honestly this car was a blast when it ran. But, i've got a '06 Subaru Legacy GT Limited... and i have to say its a lot more fun and a LOT more reliable, not to mention that for $600 i can easily tweak it to the mid 340 hp range with torque to match... and still drive it every day with no problems...
Geeds : naah man, just been busy changing careers... first it was computers, then electronics, then garage doors, then WiFi installer, then Firefighter / EMT, and now i'm busting up concrete fixing leaking swimming pool pipes.... Where will life take me next?
