would blackout paint seep through blue 3M painters tape if i were to put it on my tail lights to create a design?

i'll probably try it either way soon as the state of maryland restocks VHT NiteShades paint....

Hey, it shouldnt seep thru the tape at all. That painters tape is used for everything at the body shop including masking for graphics and so on. Just remember to spray light strokes side to side followed by up and down. Spray light coats giving each coat a chance to set up about 2 minutes in between coats. Also with each stroke of the can release the button and hit it each time you switch direction to spread evenly and prevent runs and bubbles. Post a pic if you can when your done to see what you came up with. Good luck.
