i've been thinking about this for awhile and i know the platforms are different but hear me out...
the solstice has the 2.4 ecotec that was in the sunfire and cavy, as you know whicch are j-bodies... and a turbo version... hmmm a turbo convertible from pontiac where have i heard that before??? oh yeah the sunbird!
i know they have very little in common but i consider the solstice the rebirth of the sunbird...
whaty do you guys think?
i'll have to generally disagree with ya' there, though i might be personally biased.
the 2.4 eco was never offered in the j-cars...only the 2.2 eco was.
turbo 'vert, yeah, i see what your meaning is on that point. +1 for you.
the two cars, though, really have nothing in common aside from being offered in both na and fi and the drop top.
pretty much every mag i've seen with a write-up on the sky or solstice has compared it directly at some point or another to a miata (usually the '99 sport), which is the japanese (aka reliable) version of the old brit roadsters...triumph, mg, et al.
that's just me, though...
other thoughts?
Have you seen the turbo wagon?
13.90 @ 105.46mph
street tires
rough tune
it sorta looks like the g6 when its a 4 door... but the coupe looks just like the cobalt.
i don't get it, why do most pontiacs mirror chevys?
The solstice is really a roadster ( a 2 seat rwd sports car) not a convertible. And it's full independent at each corner , and RWD... nothing really the same.
While I'd liek to think happy thoughts like this, it's not really comparable as far as platforms go.
