I have a 1992 Sunbird; yesterday I was driving at about 30 mph and the car lost power, it felt like it was going to die so I pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the ignition. The car would not re-start. The car will turn over not but will not "engage". The fuse is fine. I changed the fuel filter (old one was clogged) but the car still will not start. It is not throwing any codes. Any ideas?
battery got enough juice? alternator charging it?
could be crank position and its a 92 it doesnt have a dist. mine done this and it ended up being crank position sensor
My sunbird did the same thing, my coilpak was starting to die, mine never when out like that but my mecanic friend said he supprised it ran at all.
and if it is the Coilpack, they aint cheap new. mine set me back 250 bucks
IF it is the coil pack let me know. I have 2 good ones that aren't doing anything. They where for my old 93 le.
Today I changed the air filter and fuel pump relay, still no go. Thanks for the replies; I will give them a shot and keep you posted.
