if u want a custom hood u ahve to do the work urself or get a bodyshop to do it.... now if u want a aftermarket hood get in contact with fxdesigns, JSP, or diza(horribly fit quality) or u can get creative and try and do a 1 off

Why were they critisizing someone who wanted to try a different hood?

Okay, here are my suggestions for your car, in a thread that isnt cluttered by 3rd genners..

1. For the engine, Id go with a cleaner look....stick with 1 color, and dont overdo it. I just keep my 2.0 clean, myself...

2. For exterior customization, personally, nothing looks as good as a stock Sunbird GT or Cavalier Z24 kit..
Cavalier Z24:

Sunbird GT:

3. For interior, try to match up the colors, usually it means buying 2 or 3 cans of the same part number paint...Certainly is no problem with red, perhaps break it up with a darker color, like I did with the black...

I like the wheels myself. For hoods, I used one from a Cavalier Z24...

Note: Make sure it has the same latch you do, or else!!!

But, good luck in whatever you do...

where can you get a new hood?? that's easy... fleet farm and a grocery store. get tin foil from the grocery store, then get fiberglass and hood pins from fleet farm... for about 100 dollars you will have a hood with whatever type of cowl / ram air induction system you can create in your mind. just throw tin foil over your old hood, then slap on about 1 or 2 layers of fiberglass then decide what you want for your ram/cowl and cut a hole for it then toss some fin foil cardboard how you want it formed or thin metal if you want it curved, then put on about 4 more layers and use the hood pins as normal. when you get to about the umm 3rd or 4th layer place some metal strips similar to a stock hood so it will have a crumple zone for safety, then just proceed to place fiberglass over that and the metal will be molded into the hood. If you're not confident about the metal staying in the hood you can put washers on each side of where the metal pieces are and put a nut and bolt through it. If you use aluminum as the metal pieces the project will cost alot more but it will probably weigh 5 lbs less or so. I did all that with a mazda 323 hood and it weighed 13 lbs (stock 35 lbs) and the hood stayed still with 2 chains connected to the bumper holding it down (i went as ghetto as possible but obvioulsy you'd want hood pins if you go for looks). I used a fuel line as the hood latch and bent a 4x4 metal piece 90 degrees and bolted it unto the hood mounts or whatever they're called. The longest portion of the project is probably cutting the metal pieces unless you got a cutting torch or something more awesome than a sawzall.
