I have been having a inter. miss with my 2.0 sunbird so I looked into it and found the previous owner had stripped the sparkplug hole and drilled and put in a 18mm insert in. That would have been fine however the insert has also stripped out. The sparkplug stays in but does not seat all the way. Any Ideas out there before I replace the head on this thing???

There is a insert that will fix it all. Call around to local engine machine shops and find one that does Lock n Stitch spark plug inserts. They are the best. they are a full insert with a new sealing surface and they will never come out.

GM also sells "timecerts". Basically it is a heila coil but not spring-like. It is totally closed and the best way I have seen to repair that kind of problem.
