my project from this weekend!

First all Hello!! I am new to this site. I started this to share with everyone my project from this weekend.

I have a 92 Cav RS that didn't have cruse and I really wanted it. I have thought about the after market stuff but really wanted to stay with the factory stuff. The cost of a factory install was way up there. I went to the local pull a part junk yard and stripped the full cruse system out of another 92 RS. It went really easy. Only problem I had was finding where the green wire went to and I forgot to get the break switches. Back to the junk yard and traced down the green wire and got the break switches and retaining clips for it also. If you don’t have cruse your car will only have the one break switch. For cruse you have to have a different style break switch and another for the cruse. It works great!!!! Every function works just as if it had been there all along!!!!

List of what I needed:

Vacuum diaphragm/wire harness/mount/and vacuum lines
Turn signal switch w/ cruse
Both break switches will need retainer for top switch
Internal wire harness for cruse
Cruse relay box (Mounted in kick panel under column)
ECU (I got it because I didn’t know if I would need it, but didn’t use)
Add-a-circut fuse block (for 10A connection to fuse box)

That was it. The really funny thing is that the guy who check me out at the junk yard either wasn’t looking good or didn’t care, but it should have cost me around $60 - $70 but he only charged me $11.39 for it all!!!! (Well another $5.00 when I went back for the break switches) Total cost to add cruse to my cav was $17.00!!

This was my first try at something like this and am very pleased with it and wanted to share.

Actually, the only forum on V6Z24 that really matters wether or not its a V6 is the performance forum, and theres even 4 cyl (both 2.0 and 2.2) stuff in there. V6Z24 is an all around 2nd gen site.
