Hey All..
<what happened to me>
Well, as some of you may remember me, i'm the guy who tried doing the 'custom motor mount' idea on the '93 Z24 Turbo Convertible. What you don't know is that I became a career firefighter, and during my week of 'final training' (which was condensed into one 8 hour day) i suffered a heart condition known as SupraVentricular Tachycardia. A lot of athletes from ages 8-26 suffer this condition when overworked for extended periods. I guess I'm no different. Either way, i'm lucky to be alive and seem to be doing okay excepting some short-term memory loss. (i'll take that over paralysis!)
Anyhow, that short-termed my career as a professional firefighter, leaving me again out of work (for those of you keeping count, this is the 7th 'dry' spot since 2001). I had just bought a 2006 Legacy GT Limited (fully loaded) figuring i had a career that paid well -- and luckily my sisters gonna buy that from me; The only other thing i've got to try and bail myself out of some of my debt is my convertible. I planned on fixing it all up and just don't have the time or money to.
<What you came here looking for!>
So, a recap : My friend mistuned the hatlech and we melted 3 pistons in the 3.1 turbo motor at 14 psi boost. The car was towed to a friends house and has been sitting for about a year now behind his garage. I did have the car running about 6 months ago just idling, here's the deal:
I've got the following into the car, and would be interested in seeing if someone either wants the whole car with a new 3.1 engine (not installed, but i have it here at my house) and wants to try and do something with it... or if someone would be interested in just the parts that are in it. The body is in decent shape with minimal body rust. All glass is intact, rubber mouldings for the convertible are in decent condition. The interior is hacked up pretty bad as i was planning on removing all of the factory electronics and the cavalier interior and replacing it with a sunbird interior and a hand-made wiring harness (half the wiring is no longer used because of the hal-tech)
I've got the following:
- Haltech E6GM programmable ECU (fuel and spark)
- 2 Kyb GR2 Shocks + Struts with less than 5500 miles on them
- 2 Suspension Techniques lowering Springs (front) (may have rears somewhere but haven't seen them)
- 2 Cavalier Station wagon Rear Springs. (gives it RWD look)
- Electronic Exhaust Cutout (only sold if entire car is sold.)
- New hubs up front, Gen 2B brakes, rotors were new with maybe 300 miles before car was taken off of the road.
- All convertible top electronics and hydraulics work.
- Body panels, rocker trim, bumpers
- Old engine (vin V Mclaren engine) in unknown condition. Will start, unknown damage.
- Garrett T25 / .83 trim turbocharger (Rebuilt 2000 miles ago)
- Crossover pipe for TGP (Oroginal) uncracked
- Custom downpipe (requires engine mount relocation)
- Battery relocation kit (cables)
- Motegi Racing MR12 wheels
- Yokohama Avid 205/55/R16 V rated
- new tie rod ends
- all lights in decent condition
- custom radiator with two saab pusher fans (works better than stock and more room under the hood, requires A/C removal!)
- nefarious other parts and pieces and bits. e-mail if interested
I've got a 3.1 liter motor which i started stripping down and cleaning up to put back in the car. I also should mention its a 5 speed Z24 with a Centerforce Stage 3 Dual Friction clutch with about 4500 miles on it.
Anyone interested? Make an offer. I'm not in much of a position to turn money down at this period in time. The car is located in Bellingham Massachusetts, the engine about 3 miles away in Woonsocket RI.
(( Moderators )) - Didn't post in "for sale" because its more of an outcry to those who supported me. I'm not really wanting to sell any of it. Just entertaining the thought.
