2.2 intake mani

i need pics of the hogan racing intake mani for the 2.2
im trying to make a custom intake mani and need to know if i have to incorporate the box type thing that the stock one has on it . also sence the throutle (sp) is atached to it what other throutle boddy i can use with my custom intake

The box is called a plenum. The Hogan intake has one. A bigger plenum is often better, especially N.A. engines. I'd size it as close to 1.5 * engine displacement as I could. A 122 cube engine should have a plenum of about 180 cubes. Even if you're not interested in more power (and who isn't) a larger plenum can act as a vacuum reserve for your power brakes for better results in the twisties.

Also check intake runner length. Longer runners are good for torque. Shorter runners are good for top end. If you're building an engine to run higher than stock RPM you may want to shorten the runners some.

Lots of choices for TB. Almost anything in the junkyard could work. I'd start by looking at the power desired then find a TB of the right size for that power. After that, all you need to do is find a place and a way to mount it.

i plan on running 10.5-1 comp pistons and a nice cam i already have the header and exaust done
the header is a 4-1 from pacesetter any sudjestions
