I am going to attempt to replace my shocks on the rear this upcoming weekend, and I need to know what tools I will need. also any suggestions on brand and how to go about doing it would be awesome.

I don't know j-body's yet........but I will!

rear shocks are simple. you need a 13mm to take the top nuts off, and a 15mm to remove the bottom bolt. the bottom bolt likes to rust up, so some good penetrating oil is needed. when you change them, either have the car on the ground, or jackstand under the body lip, and have the floorjack under the axle on the side you are changing. the shocks prevent the axle from comming down, and if you dont have the axle supported, the springs can come out if your not carful.

Front is more work. You need to remove the coil (dangerous) and then you need a wheel alignment afterwards...I got about half way through it myself and was then forced to stop due to a seized bolt holding the strut to the hub...the garage had to cut the bolt off and put in a new one...
