and for the same price you can do that with a 3400 swap n/a no mods really,, just trying to help you out with out you waskting a crap load of money.. moding a 3.1 line that is pretty much pointless.

Nuse,
I will be nicer than some of the others here, but I see their point. Based on the fact that you have only run a best of 15.9 so far (I'm assuming that you are keeping the stock bottom end and cam, correct?), and the mods you have listed, you should be thrilled to break into the really high 14s. Heck, I am going to have a hard time getting to 14.5 (hopefully closer to 14.25), with my NA 5-speed Sunbird. I am starting off at a PB of 15.41 though. I am still running 15.6 - 15.7 on my car now with 152,000 miles on it (see profile). Just be realistic, and you will be less disappointed. I will try to follow my own advice!

with a small port 3100 top end on a 3.1 with a stock cam & exhaust manifolds you may break low to mid 15's... With a cam (assuming the H260-2) high 14's is possible.

Large port 3100 top end on a 3.1 with the 3100 manifolds, upgraded TB and other misc work should get you around a 14.7 Mind you this is after tuning.. depending on the cam you use mid to low 14's is possible. Not sure how long the 3.1 bottom end will hold up, oiling is an issue... I saw Scott0999's Turbo 3.1/3400 wipe a lobe off the cam in a weekend at the V6 bash

If you really want to build a hybrid i can give you the specs and parts to make some respectable power, that's IF you are ready to commit some money, time and effort.

hmm thats kinda funny that youre running a 15.9 with a 3100 top end when gm claimed the car can run 15.8 from the factory floor. also, 2 years ago my cav was running a best of 15.4 and averaging right around 15.6 with a 3.1 with accel fuel injectors fuel pressure regulator cold air intake and a glass pack for a muffler....so uh youre doing someting wrong. becuase with the setup you have now you should at least be able to get in the low 15s if not high 14s

yes they ran 15.8, brand new. after 15 years and lots of miles, they tend to slow down a bit. and ive seen a few factory freak 3.1l motors. a buddy of mine ran 15.6 dead stock consistently.

keep in mind he has a set of 3100 heads, he isnt running them yet. 15.9 is pretty normal.

the 3100 top end isnt on his car yet, he was "thinking" of puting it on. i say thinking because he just talks.

Yah, i laughed at the bigger cam too... back when he was posting about this on V6Z24.com his big thing was that he didn't want to pull the engine.. swapping a cam in a V6 Jbody is damn near impossible without jacking the engine out of the engine bay.
