what do you guys think i wanna put one in do you think its possible?
watch for flying sparks!!!
There was another discussion about this, on V6Z24 I think...
Basically you need to fabricate motor mounts, since on 2nd gens, they re on front passenger side, and on the 3rd gens they are on the passenger side, in line with the motor...then you need to rewire the ECM, possibly all the other circuits on the car as well, since the computer for 3rd gens uses completely different technology than 2nd gens...
^^^ what he said
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
so you didn't answer my question do you think I can put one in!!!????? cmon this should be easy... what about using the stock mounts with brackets and the stock ecm from a 3.1 cavalier.?

of course you can put one in. it's gonna take a lotta work though. anything is possible

Basically, its not worth it....too much time and money......that, and the motor is prolly worth more then the car itself. When I had a 2nd gen, I thought about this swap. If you have a 3.1, I suggest researching into a 3400 or 3800 s/c swap instead....
MUCH better upgrade IMO

i dunno, i think its worth it to attempt an eco swap in a 2nd gen. would be next to impossible to make the obd2 work in it, and axles are deffinitly an unknown.
would likley take a year at least for anyone to get it running and driving.
bump...

Those are completely different parts form the 2.2 Ecotec engine. Mounts are in different locations, and the ECM is now from the wrong generation and engine!
look at the big picture here you make the car think its a new one... only issue i see at all is the gauge cluster and in that case you use aftermarket. mounts can be fabbed, harnesses spliced and on and on and on you will need however a complete donor car to do this
who the hell would want a "92 Z24 Hatchback"
