im redoing my front end... while it was nice having the fenders welded to the hood... my front bumper is too heavy and lacking in bolting spots to properly attach...
so i was thinking about ordering fibreglass fenders... putting my Z24 hood on... and molding em all together...
I know carbon fibre is stronger than fibreglass... but how much of strength gain would i get with carbon fibre
if its true carbon fiber a hell of alot stronger plus its lighter. either way your better off carbon.. but I think its expensive
**changes are here**
ya... i know its WAY more expensive... but i gotta fix this
the bumper wouldnt stay attached in the front this way because the hood and fenders are metal and the bumper is fibreglass
i just wanted to make sure the strength is worth the price of carbon
IMO i would just go with fibreglass
FDP 62MM TB, FFP Performance Chip, FFP Underdrive Pully, WAI, Hi Flow Cat, 2.5" Catback, Functional Ram Air Hood, Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch
What about Kevlar... i know it will add some weight... but its supposed to hold stronger than fibreglass...
if you can afford to have the pieces all made properly in cf then it would be the way to go. but you would almost want to do it all in 1 piece, which would cost more than buying a new car i am sure!
go with fiberglass. nice and easy to repair, or mod in the future if you want to.
