COLD AIR INTAKES

Hey everybody, this is for those with 2nd gens with the 2.2 tbi

I've been looking for a cai kit/cai adapter to fit my tbi cavi, and haven't found one yet, so i've decided to make one. I was actually thinking about making more, and was wondering if anybody would be interested in buying one?

I realize that no one has any reason to buy from me, since I don't have a shop and nobody has seen my work, but I'm only offering a single product, the purpose of its creation because I wanted one for mine, and thought others might too. As soon as I get one made, I'll post pics.

I plan on making them, or at least mine, from stainless, since i have some laying around (at least I think its stainless, thats what they told me at work), but was wondering what everyone would want them made from. They will include a hole to mount the sensor that is in the stock air cleaner housing, I won't be including the sensor though.

Also if anybody is interested, what would you be willing to pay for something like this? Trying to get an idea on how to price them. At the bare minimum, they will be priced to compensate how much the materials and time to make are. I was thinking maybe around 35 bucks each. Does that sound fair to everybody?

Who have work on your car is often the difference between "Hey sweet car!" and "Parts for sale!". Choose your mechanic carefully.

I've seem a CAI on a link somewhere. Maybe it was in the sticky post. But it is all plastic tubing a believe. I would buy an intake if you were to sell them. Of course $35 wouldn't be reasonable if you wanted to make a profit. Markup!

yeah, i was thinking about the price, and am starting to wonder if that is even gonna cover the welding on each one.
someone does sell a cai for the tbi? wish i could find it.

a reminder: what i am planning on making is just the adapter for mount a cai to the tbi, not a full cai. well not yet anyhow, i'll have to see what kind of materials i can find cheap around my locale. maybe i might just do complete cai kits.

another note: I AM NOT KUSTOM J!!!!!!! just dont want anyone thinking i'm that idiot. i read about his crap... <blows rasberry>......to hell with him.

i actually bought a 96 and up injen short ram intake for a 2.2 5 speed and it works great fits fine except the t stat housing nut doesnt quite fit and it almost hits the battery with the filter. You could make it into a cold air intake with some work but space is limited
