Hey everyone. Im going to a junkyard tomarrow and im hoping to pick up a sunbird gt's appearance package. I didn't want to carry around a whole tool box romarrow so i was wondering if anyone know the specific tools i would need to remove the bumpers and the side skirts. It would be a Great help.

Phillips and Flathead screwdrivers. Phillips to remove the screws on the door panel and holding the skirts around the sides. Flathead to pop the plastic rivets off that hold on the bumper covers. You will also need a socket (16mm?) to remove the brackets on the rocker panels that support the skirts...
Thanks 89bird, much appreciated. Hopefully my bird can look as good your old sunbird.

Thanks for the kind words! Good luck!

Well, i went to the junkyard the other day. It was one of those grab all you can in your hands for $50 days. It totally sucks ass. There were 3 sunbirds, all LE's like mine. I took 2 coolant temperature sensors becuase i needed one, and i ripped out a gauge cluster with a tachometer but it will probably be a bitch to rewire to work with my car. I duno if all clusters are like this, but it was a cartridge type, plugs in like a nintendo game in the back. Didn't really want it, i just took it becuase i couldn't get my 50 bucks back.
I think im just going to save some money and trade my car in for a 94 SE with 5 spd, if i can find one. The 2.slow is starting to get on my nerves for some reason. Im getting about the same millage as my friends 98 supercharged regal gs. I think its also becuase i drive all these new cars at work and im used to how fast the v6's/v8's are in them.

Well, only the GTs came with V6s, IIRC...
All Sunbird clusters have that one mega plug in the back on the far right there...Ive heard the tach should work right off, so try plugging it in and see how it goes...
O really. i'll give it a shot tomarrow, i guess it can't hurt.

well, i tried the tach cluster but i had no luck with it. the tach didn't work, and all the lights were flashing on and off. i dont think its worth the trouble to rewire the gauges to work. i gave it a shot, maybe i'll sell it in the org if im lucky,

Yeah, I tried using one of the sunbird gauges that had the bars of warning lights on top....the tach jumped to 2000 the second i turned the key to on, but not starting, lol...
