is it wrong that i know what size everybolt is and where they all are? this is the 4th time ive dropped the tranny in this car! if we we dont count the time that its been sitting in the garage ive had the tranny out 4 times in id say about 3-4 months of driving time lol
getting started... crossover, tranny mount, intake, battery etc gone

got underneath the car to remove the K member and WTF lol

k-member, 2 trannys, axels, crossover, mount etc

shes empty!

stupid main seal

and the axle

did it by myself this time around and it took less than 2hrs to drop it, i stopped after that as i was tired from work and then tranny... while im waiting for a main seal i think im gonna remove the rear mount and weld it up(tranny mount is welded already)

2hrs, what took ya so long??? i can have one out in 45 minutes (please disregard the fact that im a transmission re/re tech by trade)

j/k

wow, id hate to have that kinda luck. although im not much better, i rebuilt my 5 speed last year and it was grinding 3rd within a couple months. sucks having to re/re a tranny multiple times.

i never remove it. what i normally do is get the axle into the diff, then get the tranny at its aproximate heights and get 2 big alignment punches (i actualy use heal bars) and use the bottom hole on the left side and one of the top holes to line it all up, and it usualy pops right in.

no plenum, gas lines, egr etc??

i think i found my huge oil leak! stupid thing was rock hard! lol if anyone doesnt know its the oil pump drive shaft o-ring

while you have it all apart, if you havent already, reslea the cam plug. the gasket is notorious for going hard then they start leaking. i usualy just pull it off, clean it up real good and silicone it on there. it is not used for cam end play, so doing this is no big deal. just make sure you pull the little steel gasket inserts off, they may seem like part of the cover, but they arent.
