does anyone have any ideas on how to fix a shifter problem? my 90 turbo bird has what feels like notches in the linkage. the car has 82000 miles on it . clutch has about 12000 on it. it's hard to get reverse without grinding gears, but okay when not running. HELP!
sounds like the clutch isnt releasing fully. does the clutch grab close to the floor??? if it does, id suspect master/slave cylender. if not, if not, it could be a colapsed pressure plate. i wouldnt suspect an internal tranny problem. our cars have shifter cables, and they dont get notchy.
