I changed my water pump and timing belt last week and evrything went well and I have been driving it for last 300 miles or so. Yesterday it started misfireing and sounded like it was running on two cyl. It has a new head and gasket last year now a new belt. I dont know if this an injector or possibly a coil issue at this point. I dont think this is mechanical at this point cause it happened so sudden. I just hope it didnt jump time cause I had everything tight. So it sits in the garage for now I guess, too cold to work on right now.
Start basic check for spark at each wire and make sure the wires are tight on the coil.If the coil is going it would run like u described.If no spark on all four ur coil is the issue.I would not think ur fuel psi would be a issue or filter is in the picture based on the post at this point.Do the simple checks 1st could be just ur spark plug wire or wires are toast u would be suprised.Hope this is a start and if I left off anything or I am incorrect may others add correct me.
My 92 did the same thing i had to replace the coilpack/ICM was kinda pricey about 300 bucks
This happened to me once on my 93, 2.0, ohc, right after I did tming belt. It was a long time ago, so the best I can remember, is that it would missfire sometimes, and sometimes stall. Turned out to be the ckp (crank senser). The pigtail for the ckp goes behind the steel plate behind the timing belt, wich is very hard to not pinch. I ended up rerouting the new one to avoid this. I later bought a 94 that I had to do the same thing to as soon as I got it, so it seems comon on 92, 95, ohc.
TY could be right to, but before you replace the coil pack//est replace your plug wires, old wires can cause crossfire. I learned this the hard way on my 93, it was running as if the firing order was off, and I thought "EST" wich is internal on these coil packs,turned out to be plug wires. Don't make the same mistake I did.
