I have tried and tried searching and couldnt find exactly what i was looking for but can the rear 3rd gen struts fit on a 2nd Gen, i just wanna know if the 3rd Gen. will bolt in place the same as the 2nd. I know you will all wanna know why but before i explain i wanna know for sure if my idea i have will work. i need a definate answer before i can move forward with my plans.
No. Two reasons- there is not enough room between the center of the shock and the inner fender even for 2.5" springs, let alone the 4" (or whatever diameter they are) 3rd gen ones. The other problem is that the inner fender is not designed to carry the weight of the vehicle, so without a bunch of additional bracing added, you run the risk of actually ripping the inner fenders off the car.
I'm interested to know what your plan was.
well i was just curious first cuz i was going to see about possibly trying to design a coilover setup but i knew that my first problem was going to be the weak inner fenders and also the springs being were they are at now. one main reason was when i bout this car i didnt look at the suspension and scamed myself into buing the ebay coilovers and so i am now i was hoping if i could design a safe rear suspension that would alow me to use the coilovers i have but now i think i will just buy lowering springs for the rear instead.
and also will these coiovers i have fit any other cars or are they for just cavys cuz i have another car i could put them on but i dont want to start on something and find out the hard way that i wasted my time. sorry if im asking some wierd questions i work like 10hrs 6 days a week and dont have alot of time on my hands right now so i figure sombody may have been in the same situation, and i appreciate the help Cahil i also used to own an XT6 they are pretty sweet for playing around on muddy roads thats what made me want a WRX.
my buddy installed civic coilovers on his winter beater Ford Festiva! hahaha i think those ebay coilovers are pretty versatile

Sorry you got suckered into the ebay garbage. There are only two actual aftermarket coil-over setups for 2nd gens (soon to be only one), and both of them are overpriced junk. Universal coil-overs like the ones you bought can fit anything that has the same diameter strut tubes (56mm). I've personally never had any ebay junk in my hands before, so I don't even know if it would actually fit a 2nd gen anyways. I don't really recommend suspension systems that aren't name brand stuff, only for the fact that you don't know the spring rates or any of the design tolerances.
Check out the suspension forum on V6Z24.com. There are some links in the FAQ for coil-over/adjustable height systems.
i tried to post pics but wasnt able to,but the springs are 3.5" wide and 5.5" tall, but i think i can get them to fit on the front, since my back end sits low from my 12" subs, but at the same time i just want to get the right lowering kit and lower it the right way. ill probaly put these on my GA if they fit or sell them to someone for what i paid since they are stil in the box.
