I am looking for any information concerning the Sunbird Convertible. I just acquired this vehicle and trying to find information about the convertible has been difficult. The owners' manual has nothing and the Haynes manual has nothing. I am looking for information on operation of the top, care and maintenance. I did see and download a manual for 1999 versions and up. Some info applies but I need more. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Spring and summer are coming and I want to enjoy the convertible I just don't want to do something that would damage the top or mechanism.
That might be a hard find here. Did you try a Haynes Manual or Chilton's? They might still be available for purchase through an auto parts store.
Possibly check on ebay for them as well.

I have the Haynes manual and it doesn't even touch anything convertible. I am looking for the Chilton's manual. Even the owenr's manual doesn't say anythig about the convertible. I want to make sure I do everything right before I use the convertible. The weather is still a little cool for it but that will change soon.

1993 sunbird shop manual
GM convertible manual (same one kev linked you to)
get these and it should have all the info youll need.
if you want to share that info with the community once youre done, then all the better
the first link is a GM dealer-only shop manual. should have all the specs for that model year car, including convertibles. it is NOT a haynes or chilton type manual. this is what you want if you are going to work on your car.
the second link is an owners manual (which you said doesnt do much and a agree--i have it on .pdf) but the book with it is, i believe, a convertible-only supplement from GM. i have one for the 95+ cars and its great. well worth the money.

I have looked at the items and the and the GM Convertible manual that is linked seems to be what I am looking for. It is for a 1994 Sunbird but is close enough to my needs. I'll have to order it and keep it with the car.

My dad has a 93 Sunbird vert with a 3.1 auto.... I've drivin it and worked on it several times......
The top is electrically powered by a swtich above the rear view mirror and there is a latch torwards the front of the top on both sides that pull out to unhook the top from the windshield.... and they HAVE to be folded back in before the top is put down...... I also had a 93 Sunbird with the 2.0 L 4 cylinder in it.... so if there is anything you wan't to know let me know and there's a good chance that I'll be able to tell ya....
