i have a 91 cavalier and the cluch will not disengage when i push the pedal. is there a cluch adjustment i can tinker around with or is the cluch gone?

Check ur slave cylder for leaks and the resevoir first,it may be low on brake fluid.If needed add fluid or replace the slave its not uncommon for the slave to go bc of leaks and make the clutch release or not release.If the clutch is not slipping in one gear on several and it's not way old I would tend to check the above first b4 replacing the clutch and throw out bearing stuff.

ok its not the slave or master i changed them both. anyone have any ideas?

When they were changed were they bled properly?

May I suggest this.The clutch has linkages and and cable and there is a adjustment in the pedal is either replaceable or adjustable.I would highly recommend buying a haynes manual 38015 from auto zone or advance auto parts so u can read and see what u need to do.It is hard to post how to do it with out writing a book for real.The manual covers 82-94 model js and will cost u about 18.00 from either store.I would lean towards either the cable is worn out,or needs adjustment or needs to be replaced and advance auto typically does carry ALOT of JBODY stuff.U can do a search on advances site by entering the shopping online and enter ur cars info and do a search for clutch cable if after u try the adjustment and the cable has too much slack and need to repl it.Since the car does not have the slipping issue,I would rule out the clutch,throw out, but if the clutch is worn or damaged this may be in the picture.Try buying the manual and try the above and if the cable and linkage are set prop and lubed for smooth operation ,at that point I would lean to buying a new clutch assembly (last resort) depending on mileage,age wear.
