Hi folks,
Any chance anyone with a 91-94 Sunbird LE could take a quick look at the door jamb to find out what the gross vehicle weight for this car would be?
Thanks much,
Adam
2-Door Vert: 2661 lbs
2-door coupe: 2484 lbs
4 door sedan: 2502 lbs

Hey Scott,
Thanks, but I think you're quoting curb weight there...I need gross weight. Google has thus far let me down on that score.

Truck scale? Just go in at night and check the weight of your car. I have a friend that weighs 450+ pounds, that's how we have to check his weight. As long as you scan the area around the stop for trucks that may need to use the weight station, and move your @$$ if they do need it, you should be fine.

Would be good if I owned one, but don't I'm afraid. Looking to see if the payload capacity is higher on 3rd gen's or 2nd gen's before picking one up. Used to own a 94', and even still have the service manuals (which you would *think* would have that in them) but still no GVW.
Thanks for the thought, however.
My 93 Cav RS fully loaded (nothing taken out, just stock like the factory) 3.1/5spd comes in around 2900 with my fat 240lb ass in the drivers seat and about a 1/2 tank of gas. They are light cars for sure!

My '93 Sunbird 3.1/5-speed with my even fatter 260 lb ass has a race weight of 2900 too, so 2600-2700 lbs sounds about right.

Thanks gents, but I'm after maximum gross weight, not curb weight or normal weight.
ie, for a 3rd Gen Cavalier, the curb weight (of the coupe, I believe) is 2578lbs, the max gross weight is 3656 lbs, making the allowable payload 1078 lbs.
It's on a marker plate on the mating surface of the driver's door in most cars.
i once packed my bird to the brim had like 1500 lbs in there. made it from jersey to so cal in 46 hours !!!!!!!! bird aint no joke yo
Door placard on my 89 cavy sedan says it can haul 900lbs of people or cargo.
