Anybody know if I can use a 1992 2.0 in place of a 1993 2.0 without any major issues? My 1993 Sunbird blew a head gasket and I have a chance at a extremely low km 1992 engine. Also, is it possible to remove just my 1993 engine from the top or do I have to drop the frame out the bottom along with the trans and everything else. Thanks in advance.

I think the 2.0 SOHCs are essentially the same.

BUMP, someone must have pulled a 2.0 ohc from a 1993 Sunbird! The question is does the engine come out from the top or do I have to drop the frame out the bottom along with the trans and everything else. Or maybe it can be done both ways? (a shop manual i got ahold of says all 2.0 ohc 1992 and up you need to drop the frame and raise the body off the engine?

You pull all engines out from the top.
Just unbolt it from the car, then tranny, then pull it out.
simple as that.
