I know it seems kinda backwards but I have a 2.2L from a 1994 cavalier and the engine runs like a top, but the body has become rusty beyond the point of repair. I know my engine was also used in the 95 cavalier (3rd gen) but does anyone know if it will work in say a 97? Are the mounts and the wiring the same? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I believe the 96 and 97 2.2 had a crankshaft sensor IIRC, but it might work. Probably get a better response posting in the 3rd gen forum
the 94 eninge wont work in a 97 but a 97 will work in a 94
just have to switch EGRS and the 97 has a camshaft position sensor thats why the 94 wont work in a 97 as it doesn't have it
