I've got a 91 Cavalier, 2dr, with manual windows. There's a black guide on the window that runs up along door to hold the window in place. Is that replaceable? There's a hole in the window for it, but I don't know if you have to take out the window to replace it.
If I'm going to have to take out the window, ill just put a bolt and nut through it to hold it in place.
Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about. Hoping to get it done today since I got a day off.
Thanks
Yes it is replaceable, and you can do it with the window in the car. You can find them at most auto parts stores in the "Help" section where they have all the trim panel fasteners, nuts and bolts and stuff. They're pretty cheap. You can't just put a nut and bolt through it, since the bolt head and nut would never fit in the track.
.
That is actually a common problem so I was told from the previous owner of my 87 z he gave me extras for that reason.
