Whats a good price you would say its worth
And what are things to look out for when buying it?

Needs come tlc? and top. Without seeing it I would guess from $400 to $1200. A top alone if you have it done is going to run from $800 to $1200. Check out this 94 on ebay now ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1994-chevorlet-z24-convertible-/221151193178?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item337da3685a ) , just to use as a guide and no one has bid on it yet. Check for leaking head gaskets and rotted front engine cradle, floors and doors for starters.

Ok price John said is about inline 400-1200 depending real visit with car.Now things to consider. How are the window sweeps(those are the rubber against the glass outside) both sides cracked or missing rubber.Next open door check for rust on the bottom of the door a major issue if really bad.Body is obvious dents, dings rust anywhere.I would check fluids color, trans, oil, brake and or clutch fluid (if dark) bad on clutch and brake especially.Look at hoses, belts, leaks of any kind, and if you have a obd 1 reader check for codes!!Ask all the obvious like how old is water pump, timing chain, starter, alternator, battery, shocks and struts age.I could go on forever but, just spend like 30 minutes go over every inch check front and rear for bounce 1 push down should NOT bounce more than that for good suspension.Hows the cat and muffler age?Brakes new old, orig, calipers, drums.Just consider the age of the car, what real cost you would have to spend to make it really sound, then make a offer based on that.So if the car was 1200 and needed new major items, brakes, exhaust, suspension, top as u said I would go lower.Hope this helps and I do know these cars and may this assist you in your possible buy.

This is the exact one i am looking at it. He told me tlc taking that as spark plugs wires etc. I told him id have to wait a week to buy and after he was done talking. What all do i need for the top besides the top obviousy. Should i get a new motor, cylinder, cables? Weather stripping i can tell by looking lol probably yes being its in az.
Good point on the rust i wouldnt have thought about that being in az idk where the cars been the last 13 years!

Also how hard is the top to replace if anyone knows?

Im looking for something to casualty drive around and enjoy. I have my dd but wanna make it a weekend car. I hope i can get it and all goes well!

Someone posted those pictures on here a while back lol, think it was in a post about doing a motor swap or something. Be sure to give the undercarriage a good once over as well before buying.

I have done two tops myself and did it with a video. Got the video from a guy on ebay ( link = http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cavalier-Convertible-Top-Installation-DVD-88-91-Make-Money-Save-Money-/130797992399?fits=Model:Cavalier&hash=item1e742af9cf&item=130797992399&pt=Motors_Car_Truc k_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr ) and it was for the second gen cars. I replaced both tops on my 1st gen convertibles and it was not that hard if you take your time. I did have to purchase a pneumatic upholstery stapler used on ebay and then got some stainless staples to fit it. You might also need, depending on condition, pads and well liner. If your hydraulics work and do not leak you should be in good shape.

It dosent look too hard just take time and steady hands it looks like.
Unfortunately hes wanting $700 when he said he paid $500!!!
It is overheating and the compression is off in two cylinders cant even drive it home if i wanted to.
Haven't fully said no looks like a fun project ill just wait till the holidays get closer hopefully he drops it to a little better price!
