Is there a tach adapter between the computer and the dash?

I hooked up a Sun mini tach to the correct white wire near the computor on my 92 2.0 OHC Sunbird and the needle pegs all the way to the right. I did the same to the same tach to my old 2000 2.2S10 right off the computer and it worked fine.

I dont know if the tach survived the 3000 mile journey here or its hooked up too close to the computer. ( pin A6 )
