14" Steel Wheel Center Caps
Thursday, March 19, 2015 11:22 AM
I have these Steel wheels with hubcaps, http://www.wheelsandcaps.com/p-23389-steel-wheel-rim-14x6-8011.aspx

I'm wondering if these would fit in the center , http://www.ebay.com/itm/151364980269?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT#ht_539wt_896

I currently have the lug nuts that hold on the hubcap and wheel and a black plastic cap screws on to them.

I guess the center caps fit a 87 Fiero and other models............................

Thanks, Doug in P.R.

Well I just looked up/Googled "1983 Fiero steel wheel" and the Fiero's wheel didn't appear to be the same as the one you but in the box above... :-(

BUT it does appear the eBay seller offers Hassle Free Returns! so I mean hey maybe its just worth a shot? But yeah the wheels I found weren't the same as what you posted above, so I'd be skeptical how well they might fit.

The caps are ending on Ebay so I posted the pic instead.

I dont think the center part of the wheel changed from the first gen to the second and the lug nuts should hold them on if not .....the black screw on caps should.

this parts diagram CENTRIC Part # 12162018 located here https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php under this listing 1985 PONTIAC FIERO 2.5L 151cid L4 : Brake/Wheel Hub : Rotor says that PONTIAC FIERO (1984 - 1987) uses a
5 x 3.94 = 5 x100 mm bolt pattern. With the flanged lug nut on our cavy's . that center cap isn't going any where, and the lug nut will really bring'em out. Your 92 sunny will you love for it,enjoy

Well here is some solid proof that these caps will in fact bolt up if anyone is interested in using them.

There are 2 styles that fit one is Chevy and the other is Pontiac.

I recommend using the 1st gen lug nuts with the chrome Chevy cap, it fits the metal backing plate safer.

On the Pontiac Cap I recommend using the 3rd gen lug nut with the plastic screw on sudo bolt covers. Pleasing appearance and nice snug fit with no chance of falling off.

Thanks for the Info and taking the time to mock them up Orlen, the black Pontiac ones will do, a nice silver with a clear coat on a gloss black wheel is what I'll probally do. ( Old GM COPO or cop car look)

Hey, I like your way of thinking!!

Those black lug nut covers will really pop against the Silver Center Cap, and the Cap will blend in beautifully with some trim rings to boot! You got it going!!

Gotta share some photos of the progress!!

Looks like you are going after the 1st gen GT look.

Think I have a few photos of one for inspiration:

As a logical follow up to this thread I thought it would only be fitting to give the 3rd gen standard 15" steelies a check to see "what if?"

Glad to report that these will work as well!

Caps are done and on, but the black plastic covers for the lug nuts are too long ,

Orlen ,do you have a part number or year the shorter ones are from?

Thanks, Doug

Had some spare time during Turkey Holiday to play around , and some very nice weather. Put together a set of the 14's with the stock Pontiac centers. Painted them simple aluminum silver, personally pleased with the result. Wheels are sporting 185/70's

Good Job Orlen, where did you get the Jetzons from? I had those on my first car ( 62 Bel Air) on the rear only ,in my old street racing grounds in Rochester Ny ( white letter of course) way back in the mid 1970's.

Friend had a wholesaler that let use bypass the middle man for tires back then.

Didnt think they still made them anymore..................................?

Re: 14

Doug I picked those old tires up cheap at the local yard earlier this year. I've had a very hard time finding the 185/70's there. I have all different kinds of sizes and wanted to see just how well the 185's looked on here. So it is hard to tell how old they are, but they still got some tread on them and hold air so they will get some use during these sour months we have to endure. Still keeping an eye out for you some lug nut covers when I get over there - will get some more yard time after the holidays are behind us!
