I just want to lower my car one inch with springs. I have 215/45/17. I know everyone says you need struts, but only an inch, will that hurt? It is like having 100lbs in trunk??
yes you will need struts because sooner or later the stock ones will blow. they can barely handle the stock springs as it is. might as well just save the extra 350 and get the struts too and do it all at once
ive got 4000 miles on a 1" drop on 27000 mile stock struts. everyone will tell you not to do it but i figure my struts are going to blow one day anyway. if you have access to an alignment rack and a good working facility, go for it. honestly though i have a base cav (without a spare also) and it sits about the same heigth as a loaded cav with a spare in the back.
15.4 @ 89mph
1" drop, it's not
necessary. I highly recommend it, but it's your car.
I think you will be fine.
MY rears have gone threw 5-6 months on bags and another 6 months on Goldlines.
Not to mention however many miles they went threw on the car I took them off of.
I am all that is man
I am in the same boat. I have KYB GR2 struts and alls i want is like one inch lower. I was thinking of either the:
Tein High.Tech Lowering Spring Kit - 1.1-inch Drop
or the
Suspension Techniques Lowering Springs. 1.2-Inch Drop.
I don't really think either of these would blow the KYBs. But i would like some input if some of you guys could help me out. I just don't want to make yet another post about this.
thanks,
steve
My other car is an interceptor.
Do the tein high tech with those struts and it will be fine. That should be a good riding combo, look a little better, and be able to give you some decent performance too.
I'll have a sig someday....................
