Tein Basics or Super Streets
Sunday, December 25, 2005 7:06 PM
I did a search adn found some decent info on these, but I was wondering if people could update me on how they were working out. I really would like some new suspension and if I can sell my Nissan (someone buy it for 1500 obo please) I would be able to buy the SS with an EDFC. If not, the Basic should be fine for road driving and an occasional track day. Let me know thoughts on either peeps.

Either one of those setups would be really nice. The main difference between the two is that the SS's have the pillowball mounts, have adjustable dampening, and are setup for use with the EDFC. Also, I think the spring rates are a bit different, but i'm not sure.

Why would I hate myself for buying the basics? I don't really need all that adjustment. I usually just drive my car and enter about three events each year. Other than that, I go to shows and drive around the US in the summer and between home and denver, co. The Basics sound like a great suspension but let me know why I would be disappointed.

I am located in Western Colorado. Send me an e-mail at rjtrout2000@yahoo.com if you want any more info on the car. I am trying to sell it with the parts I have for it for around $1750.

One size does not fit all, you may find the setting of the basics to be too stiff or too soft for your driving style.

I haven't ridden in a Tein Basic J yet, but the 240 I rode in at an autox that had Basics I would NOT want to drive daily.

The Super Streets are a much better purchase especially if you like doing more than just driving your car on the street. (drag, autox, etc....)

as they said the s/s's come with new pillow ball mounts , and they even have new rear mounts

ive heard from some the basic is a little to stiff , and i know atleast 1 person blew a rear mount in MI wiith his basic's

the nice thing about the s/s's you can set them soft for rought roads , or firm for smooth roads

for the money youll be smart getting the s/s's , just for the strut mounts alone its worth it

I would love to have the SS with EDFC for sure. I just need to sell this 240SX and I'll be able to do that. I've heard the basic can be a little stiff, but i'm sure its no where near the ride of GC and GR2. I actually would probably onyl track the car a few times out of the year (maybe two at most). After college, I looked at buying a solstice or a cobalt SS and turning my car into a track car, which would make the SS a better investment. Somoene buy my 240 pleeaaaaaassssseeeee!!!!!!!!!
