Here is my question...Ive searched for this answer with no hope....Are struts/shocks the same for the 2001 cavy base and Z24? If they are different what is the part number. Thanks
Yes they are. Should mention this in the FAQ...... Springs and struts are all the same for all years of 3rd gens (slightly different designs, all have the same specs).
Oh. While I'm at it. Don't get Dealership replacements. You'll pay out the ass, and get the same crap your car came with. Get KYB GR2s or Tokico HPs if you're just looking for a good stock replacement.
Thanks. Know of a good set of springs to lower appx 1.5"?
Eibach Pro lowers 1.4" recommend KYB AGX's
B & G 1.6" reccommended KOni Yellows or Tokico D
Actually... the struts are slightly different.
The fronts are different between 95-early 99 and late 99-05. Same with the mounts.
The rears are different struts between Active Ride (FE0) and Soft Ride (FE1), and the Ride/Handling (FE2) levels.
The springs are the same, no matter what year or trim level.
Ahhem "(slightly different designs, all have the same specs)"
I are you sure on the different rear strut for the FE0/1/2?
I thought they were the same; but I've been wrong before....
Another option is H&R gives you 1.6" in the front 1.4" in the rear. Looks nice and aggressive, but still speedbump safe.
I have a set of these on my AGX's, going to autocross them this weekend.

read the faq's. this covers the majority of it all. it will tell you all the interchangable parts, it gives you like 15 different springs and their drops, plus tells you good struts to go w/
Hate to bring something up unrelated, but bh04 that chick is way hot. how did you make that bad ass graphic with your car? and how do you get it to show up every time you post?
its a sig, go to the newbies forum and read the sticky on sigs
I'll post the part numbers if you want, when I get home. I don't know the differences but there must be something different.
I'm at work right now

^ someone explain THAT one to me
I'm not going to bother typing out the rear... but you get my drift. There were differences in the suspension, like it or not.
hey John you know thats so the dealer can charge you more for " rare hard to find " parts !
seriously though it s most likely where technology progressed or they found a different or cheaper supplier. and different numbers were used so that if there was ever a problem the would know what was what if it all hit the fan.
a friend has a 98 Z and he always has people ask him what he is lowered on. he has a stock suspension. I'm lowered and unless I am parked next to another "J" you would never know it.
Ok here it's. I need lower springs that look kinda stock. To keep that whole Ghost Car thing working.
go with the pro-kit and forget it
Tien H-Techs or Suspension Techniques. Both are a small drop, and a slight handling improvement, although not compared to ProKit.
Where may I aquire these???
Ant the Z has a front sway bar
Typo.....should read : And the Z has a front sway bar.
hey john the difference on the A-arms is the bushings used in them
the FE2 used a slightly harder durometer bushing , also the rear used a slightly harder bushing as well as the added bar to the rear
There's gotta be something else tho. I didn't list the bushings, but the arms themselves have different numbers.
